Joel Wood and Lia Hatzakis are best mates that make comedy, travel and lifestyle videos with over 300k subscribers and 50+ million views on Youtube. Starting out as actors, they met at RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art) in 2012 and started making videos together after graduating. The reason for creating content initially came out of boredom and the need to be creative, after discovering that so many performers in traditional media industries such as tv, film and theatre, face so many gatekeepers and hundreds of set backs in their careers. At the time, creating content on Youtube was frowned upon by almost everyone in their network but Joel and Lia had fun doing it and now by 2019 the Joel & Lia channel has been a full time job. From entertaining vlogs to informative content based around British culture, their channel has gained a loyal audience who follow everything they get up to. The pair often travel to the US and document their trips in a "Brits abroad" style of video by trying out what each place has to offer in terms of cultural experiences, foods to try etc and this format has proved popular amongst their large American audience.

Joel and Lia have worked with many brands on Youtube and Instagram such as Harry's, JBL Speakers, Superdry, Heineken, Rosetta Stone, Skillshare, Surfshark, Just Eat and the National Theatre. They were described as "the realest Youtubers you'll ever meet" by Ten Eighty magazine and Youtube featured them as Creators on the Rise in 2018. Recently Joel and Lia are seeing mainstream opportunities as a presenting duo which is something they would like to pursue, as well as continuing with their Youtube channel.
